CAMBODIAN Prime Minister Hun Manet confirmed his attendance for the upcoming ASEAN-Japan Summit as Japan commemorates 50 years of friendship with the regional bloc.
The ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit will be held in the Japanese capital of Tokyo from December 16-18, 2023.
The prime minister confirmed his attendance after a phone call between Cambodia’s foreign minister and his Japanese counterpart Kamikawa Yoko.
Both countries expressed a desire to strengthen ties during the sidelines of the 23rd ASEAN Summit in September.
Diplomatic ties between Cambodia and Japan have been going on for centuries and can be traced to the early 1600s (sixteen hundred).
