AFTER being targeted by Iran-backed Houthi rebels on February 18, the damaged Rubymar ship is still partially floating and abandoned at sea.
The ship was carrying more than 41,000 tons of fertilizer when the incident occurred.
The attack resulted in an 18-mile oil slick, according to the U.S. Central Command.
Officials in the United States have warned of a looming environmental calamity if fertilizers flow into the water.
The Belize-flagged ship is waiting to be hauled to a secure harbor as fears of an oil disaster rise.
Houthi rebels have escalated their attacks on cargo vessels passing through the Red Sea since the war between Israel and Hamas erupted in October 7 of last year.
