Cyprus trains with Israel’s air force to prepare potential attack from Iran

ISRAEL is making intense preparations to protect its territory from a looming attack by conducting joint drills with allies like Cyprus to bolster its defense capability.

The drills with the United States and Cyprus took place earlier this week.

A new wave of tensions gripped the Middle East and the Arab world after the airstrike in Syria last week raised the possibility of a dangerous confrontation between Israel and Iran.

The United States has repeatedly promised to support Israel in the face of Iranian threats and declared its ironclad commitment to defend the Jewish state.

The U.S. and its allied officials predicted the attack could be in the form of a missile that would be launched directly from Iran or through its proxies in the region like the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah.

Just like Iran, Hezbollah is an archenemy of Israel and a constant threat to its borders.

It is not yet clear whether Cyprus will send its own troops in case a full-fledged war erupts between Israel and Iran.
