DENR-MEO North, participates simultaneous clean-up of Spine Creek and Lapu-Lapu Creek in Malabon, Navotas, Caloocan City

IN solidarity with the celebration of #WorldWaterDay2024 with the theme “Water for Peace”, the DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO) – North, headed by MEO – North OIC Director Engr. Nolan B. Francisco, participated in the simultaneous clean-up of Spine Creek and Lapu-Lapu Creek in Malabon, Navotas and Caloocan City conducted on March 23.

The cleanup activity was initiated by DENR EMB National Capital Region and was also participated by different organizations from the public and private sector such as City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) Malabon, City Environmental Management Department (CEMD) Caloocan, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Tanduay Distilled Corporation and staff of barangays covered of the so-called flowing waters.

Successfully collected over three hundred (300) sacks of mixed garbage from the conducted cleanup.

The continuous cleaning of the streamwaters in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) area is being continued by MEO-North which is still in relation to the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program, particularly in Metro Manila.
