DPWH-MM1st’s Gladiator II block screening raises donations for typhoon victims in Catanduanes

A total Php. 200,000 monetary donations for typhoon victims were raised by the Department of Public Works and Highways – Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office (MM1st DEO) after the successful block screening of Gladiator II on December 11, 2024, at Opus Premier Cinema 1, Quezon City.

The donation drive was led by the management, and Employees Union of MM1st DEO, in response to the call of DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan to extend assistance to regions affected by the recent typhoons. As such, District Engineer Aristotle B. Ramos announced that all proceeds from the ticket sales, along with in-kind donations of clothes, and water donated by employees will be solely given to the victims of typhoon Pepito to aid in the recovery, and relief efforts of the government in Catanduanes.

The event was spearheaded by DE Ramos; Assistant District Engineer Lamberto C. De Leon; Construction Chief, Engr. Eduardo B. Del Rosario; Planning and Design Chief, Engr. Elino V. Castro; Administrative Chief, Atty. Erwin A. Paat; Maintenance Chief, Engr. Michael Adrian C. Montero; Quality Assurance Chief Engr. Reynaldo F. Acido; Procurement Chief, Engr. Rodel A. Santos; and Finance Chief, Engr. Ericka O. Antazo.

The DPWH-NCR management extends its appreciation to all District Engineering Offices, its employees, and officials who have in many ways extended a helping hand for typhoon-ravaged regions – a testament that the Bayanihan spirit lives on!
