“We would like to thank Huawei for inviting us APCU. APCU is the foremost Filipino NGO promoting people-to-people relations and diplomacy between the Philippines and China. And we are really astounded by what Huawei has accomplished in the Philippines in the past 20 years. They have provided very low-cost high technology to the Filipino consumer, especially in the telecommunications industry and this is new to me but Huawei has provided for free education to hundreds of Filipino scholars and they have even brought many of them to Beijing to study and graduate and are now being employed by Huawei Philippines. So, I think Huawei is a very good brand ambassador for China to the Philippines.

“Well it’s very informative. You know, Huawei is a very popular brand not only in the Philippines but worldwide but this is the first time that we attended a briefing of how the company started in the Philippines. So this is very educational for us and it only manifest that Chinese companies have been helping the Philippines much longer than many of us know,” Peter Laviña- Deputy Secretary General, APCU.

“Huawei is actually a testament of a friendly bilateral relations between the Philippines and China. We shall continue visiting Chinese companies, business, enterprises in the Philippines. We shall continue in magnifying the impacts of these companies in the normal lives of the Filipino people and of course much shall be known and much should be discovered in what these companies can do to our country cause at the end of the day we can only achieve shared vision if Chinese companies, Filipino companies work together so let us all work together for a brighter and prosperous Philippines,“ Prof. Cavin Franco Pamintuan, APPCU 2022 Laureate.

“This is the Chinese Embassy we write the APCU, APCU members the most famous organization promoting the Philippine-China Cooperation and Huawei is one of the best Chinese companies and also one of the best in the world. They will be here for 20 years making heavy investments and creating jobs, more than 22,000 jobs which contributed a lot to the Philippine economy and they are also serving as a bridge. Bridging the Philippine Economic Cooperation and that’s why we choose this as the first company for the APCU members can have this tour and after this we were briefed by Huawei employee of its development for 20 years,” Counsellor Xie Yonghui Chinese Embassy in Manila.

They are quite up to date in their assessment and China is very much competitive against other companies and other than that they offer better quality products cheaper at that and another thing they call it socialism pinamimigay nila sa mga employees nila,” Rodrigo Kapunan-APPCU 2022 Laureate.

“It’s really, you see the future in Huawei Philippines headquarters nakita natin technologies noh, hindi lang natin nakikita ngayon ang infrastructure kasi dati nakasanayan natin sa technology is cellphone, laptop but today we see yung ecosytem noh yung galing sa power source, distribution center, the logistics, iisang component lang ng software and technology and maganda dito ang Philippine Technology and Philippine Talent and Human Resource is one of the best in the world, alam natin mga kumpanya sa mundo, the top technology, the top scientist, the top creative people are Filipinos so this is our opportunity gamitin natin ito. Because of President Duterte’s independent foreign policy, ang daming mga foreigners na nag-iinvest sa Philippines nagdadala ng technology, human resource, the Filipino talent can, we do not need to go abroad dati mga OFWs natin, mga talented professionals natin they need to go abroad for opportunities now the foreigners are coming here, we can now upgrade our skills mas magandang kinabukasan para sa ating mga kababayan,” Austin Ong-political analyst, IDSI
