TWO hunger strikers who have been fasting for more than 40 days now have been rushed back to the hospital amid concern about their deteriorating health.
Student activists Tantawan Tuatulanon and Orawan Phuphong returned to the hospital just a week after being released.
The two political hunger strikers were at high risk of kidney failure and might not survive the night without medical intervention.
Both are suffering from body pain and low fluid intake, blood test results are not normal and their kidney function began to have problems.
They were protesting outside the Supreme Court on Friday when their lawyer decided to return them to the hospital due to their worsening health condition.
The two have been refusing to take water or intravenous fluids since Thursday after one of their colleagues has been rejected.
The two student activists are now on the 45th day of their hunger strike.
