“Majao Samal kamayo ubos, I am very happy that after 3 years the celebration of the Pangapog Festival is back again. It is also very important because it adds to the cultural identity of the island. And of course if there are festivals like this, it adds attractions to tourists here on the island. And of course not to mention the programs that we are giving to our indigenous people (IP) brothers and sisters. And our city also has many programs, this is just one, infrastructure, tribal houses, scholarship programs, medical everything,” ayon kay Al David Uy, Igacos City Mayor.

Samantala, may panawagan naman si Datu Marcelo Ngap, Jr. kay National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Secretary Allen Capuyan.

“It is important because in order to preserve it, it will be done every year. Because if it is not done every year, we fear that it will be lost, but we always celebrate every year because even before there was a memorial, our ancestors celebrated this Pangapog Festival. What I would like to convey and appeal to Sir Allen Capuyan that the ancestral domain of the Samal Tribes here in Samal should have been given a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title,” ayon kay Datu Marcelo Ngap, tribe of Sama.

“I am Monalisa Alviso. I am the president and CEO of OKTA Precious Group of Companies Incorporated. Nandito kami para makiisa sa program ng Pangapog Festival ng indigenous people of Samal. So, always kami in support kay Datu Ngap—Marcelo Ngap para for the preservation of the culture and heritage ng indigenous people of Samal,” ayon kay Monalisa Alviso, CEO OKTA Precious Group of Companies.
