AUTHORITIES are investigating the cause of a huge blaze that ripped a hospital in northern Iran killing nine people and injuring hundreds of others.

Another medical facility has been damaged by a deadly fire in Iran less than half a year after the same incident happened in the capital Tehran.

The massive blaze erupted in the basement of a hospital in northern Iran’s city of Rasht.

Around 140 patients were inside the hospital when the fire started.

It took approximately three hours to extinguish the flames completely.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

The incident happened less than five months after a huge fire broke out at Gandhi Hospital in the capital Tehran.  No casualties were reported during the incident.
