Israel to receive more fighter jets from U.S.

AMERICAN Aerospace Company Lockheed Martin recently won a multimillion-dollar modification contract involving the F-35 fighter jet program in Israel.

Under the agreement, Lockheed will provide Israel with a depot maintenance activation plan for establishing the F-35 Aircraft’s initial depot capability.

The contract is valued at 17.8 million and is set to be completed by December 2024.

The US-made F-35 fighter jet is said to be the most powerful and one of the most advanced of its kind in the world.

It is designed to perform air superiority and strike missions, with an ability to comfortably operate at 60,000 ft.

On May 2018, Israel became the first country in the world to use the F-35 in combat for Israel, the fifth-generation fighter jet serves as a critical weapon that can be used to launch any potential future airstrike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Last year, the local media reported that the Israeli Air Force upgraded its F-35 fighter jets to reach Iran without mid-air refueling.

Israel already owns 36 F-35s since November and will receive another 14 in the coming years.
