NANINDIGAN si House of Representatives Speaker Martin Romualdez laban sa tinawag niyang mga paninira sila sa Kamara.
Balik sesyon agad ang Kamara matapos ang limang linggong recess mula sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) at Undas.
Mismong si Speaker Martin Romualdez ang nanguna sa opening of session.
At sa kaniyang speech, binigyang linaw ni Romualdez ang mga isyu sa paggamit nila ng budget.
“My fellow legislators, it is true that we, the members of this 300-plus strong chamber, compose a cluster of high-minded individuals possessing a diversity of passionate views and different political perspectives. However, we remain steadfast as we set our differences aside and become fiercely united whenever the institution we courageously devote our efforts to, or any individual member of this chamber for that matter, is being threatened by opportunistic motives that aim to distract us from fulfilling our mandate,” ayon kay House of Representatives Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Nauna nang hinamon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na pabuksan ang financial statements ng Kamara para masuri kung paano ginagamit ang pera ng taumbayan.
Lalo na’t karapatan ng taumbayan na malaman ang paggasta sa pondo ng gobyerno.
“What is the defense kung magloko sila, magnakaw sila, excessive expenses? The defense is in the Constitution. And it says the right of the people to be informed must be… is majestic,” ayon kay Dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Nanindigan naman si Romualdez na nagkakaisa sila sa Kamara sa pagpapanatili sa integridad ng institusyon.
Lalo na sa mga nagbabalak na sirain ang reputasyon ng Mababang Kapulungan.
“Tatayo ako laban sa sinuman na mananakot sa atin para masunod lamang ang gusto nila. Titindig ako—tayong lahat—para sa kapakanan ng bayan. Let us focus on the tasks at hand. When our goals are aligned, we could be an excellent force, propelling our country into unbridled progress. Let us ensure that our actions will promote development in all spheres of both the government and society,” dagdag ni Romualdez.
Samantala, nagbitiw naman bilang miyembro ng PDP-Laban si Pampanga Rep. Aurelio ‘Dong’ Gonzales.
Naipit kasi ito sa tanong ni Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman sa kung sino ang personalidad na sumisira sa imahe ng Kamara.
Si dating Pangulong Duterte ang chairman ngayon ng PDP-Laban.

Isa-isa namang nagsalita ang political party leaders sa Kamara bilang pagsuporta sa kasalukuyang House leadership.
Nag-ugat naman ang hamon ni dating Pangulong Duterte matapos tanggalan ng confidential funds ang kaniyang anak na si Vice President Sara Duterte sa Office of the Vice President (OVP), at Department of Education (DepEd).
Bilang ama, hindi nagustuhan ng dating Pangulo ang sinapit ng kaniyang anak na siniraan at pinagmukhang corrupt sa isyu ng confidential funds.
Sa bersiyon ng Kamara sa 2024 Proposed National Budget, zero confidential funds ang DepEd at OVP.
