Maricel Soriano admits owning condo unit linked to PDEA leaks

Maricel Soriano admits owning condo unit linked to PDEA leaks

THE protest coincides with the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs investigation into the PDEA Leaks, involving confidential documents linking Marcos Jr. to illegal drug use.

But even amidst the heated atmosphere outside the Senate, Senator Bato dela Rosa, chairman of the committee, seemed calm when questioning Maricel Soriano, allegedly associated with Marcos Jr. as a cocaine user based on PDEA documents.

Soriano was summoned to verify the controversial document.

In her statement, she admitted to owning the condo unit mentioned in the document.

In the subsequent press briefing, Senator Dela Rosa stated that Soriano’s admission regarding the ownership of the controversial condo unit adds credence to the PDEA Leaks documents.

‘‘That adds credence to the claim of Morales, that he was the one who did it and what he did was right because Maricel admitted it. Maricel and politician Bongbong Marcos are the subjects there. Then the address, the unit is the same unit, and Maricel admits that the unit is hers. That gives credence to Morales’ pre-ops,’’ according to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Chair, Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs.

In relation to this, the senator apologized for not pressing Soriano further during questioning, noting her apparent nervousness.

‘‘Forgive me if you think I didn’t interrogate Maricel Soriano deeply enough because it’s difficult, she was trembling when she arrived. Maybe if I pressed harder in questioning and she fainted during our hearing, what will that make of me?’’ Sen. Dela Rosa added.

Finally, Senator Bato emphasized that he wouldn’t dwell on Soriano and Marcos Jr.’s alleged drug use during his hearing.

He explained that the investigation is focused on tightening security measures for sensitive and confidential information to prevent leaks.
