OPAPA launches 2025 Nutrition Program to mark BBM Anniversary and Sec. Gadon’s 67th birthday

IN celebration of the 1st anniversary of the Batang Busog Malusog (BBM) program and Secretary Larry Gadon’s 67th birthday, the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation (OPAPA) launched the first wave for 2025 of its nutrition program at Oranbo Elementary School in Pasig City on March 7, 2025.

With a mission to combat child malnutrition and promote health awareness, the initiative benefited nearly 1,000 students and parents through nutritious meals and access to health care. The program was made possible with the support of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), McDonald’s Corporation, PHILKO 18, and The Fraternal Order of Eagles-Philippine Eagles (TFOEPE).

Beneficiaries received nutritious meals—including nutribuns, oatmeal packs, powdered milk packs, taho, hard-boiled eggs, and bananas, educational booklets, acess to information booths, where parents could register and inquire for PhilHealth services.

The Batang Busog Malusog program aims to ensure more Filipino children and families receive the support they need for a healthier and successful future—both key factors to alleviating poverty.

This initiative did not involve any public funds, at zero cost to the government. Secretary Larry Gadon hopes the private sector will engage in similar practices.
