PCG Commandant leads oath-taking of newly promoted Auxiliary officers

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, presided over the oath-taking ceremony of two newly promoted PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) Executive Squadron officers at the National Headquarters in Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 13 January 2025.

The newly promoted officers were the Special Adviser to the Commandant of the PCGA Executive Squadron, Auxiliary Rear Admiral Ashford “Bobby” Chua and PCGA Executive Squadron member, Auxiliary Commodore Apolinar De Guzman Suarez Jr.

“The strength of the PCG organization lies in the support we receive from dedicated individuals like the PCGA. As auxiliary officers, you have demonstrated professionalism and reliability that have amplified the reach and effectiveness of the PCG,” Admiral Gavan commended.

“This is not just a recognition of the ranks you now hold but a celebration of your unwavering support, steadfast dedication, and remarkable service to the Philippine Coast Guard,” he added.

The event was also graced by key PCG officials, including Commander of the Coast Guard Civil Relations Service, Commodore Teotimo Borja Jr. PCG; Commander of the Coast Guard Fleet, Commodore Arnaldo Lim PCG; Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Civil Relations Service, Captain Lejanie Dy PCG; and PCGA official Auxiliary Commodore Alvin Aguilon was also in attendance.

The ceremony underscores the PCG’s continued gratitude for the PCGA’s commitment to safeguarding maritime safety, protecting the marine environment, conducting search and rescue operations, and fostering maritime community relations. Through its efforts, the PCGA plays a vital role in enhancing the overall effectiveness of the PCG.
