THE Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas (CGDEV) and Municipality of San Miguel, Leyte signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the establishment of a Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS).

CGDEV Commander, CG Commodore Romeo Pulido Jr, and San Miguel Mayor Norman Sabdao presided over the signing ceremony on 14 June 2024.

Under the MOA, the PCG will utilize an office space located at Barangay Sta. Cruz to strengthen maritime presence and response capabilities in the municipality, thereby enhancing safety and protection for coastal communities.

The CGDEV said the collaborative effort between the PCG and the LGU of San Miguel strengthened their commitment to advancing maritime security and safeguarding community welfare.

“This milestone sets the stage for enhanced partnerships and effective coordination in maritime operations, ensuring a safer maritime environment for all stakeholders,” the District furthered.
