THE parents, relatives, and friends continue to mourn the death of Sergeant First Class Cydrick Garin, a member of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and among the 24 who were killed while fighting in Gaza on Monday.
According to the Philippine Embassy in Israel, along with the Filipino Community, they express their condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family of the 23-year-old Sgt. Garin.
Both parents of the fallen IDF soldier are Filipinos.
The mother of Sgt. Garin currently resides in Tel Aviv, while his father is traveling from General Santos City to Israel.
This Monday, the Israeli military suffered great losses in its confrontation against the Hamas group.
According to IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari, the soldiers were killed in an attack in Central Gaza when Hamas surprised them and launched missiles and rockets.
Unfortunately, Garin was among the casualties.
Garin is the 5th Filipino who died due to the Israel-Hamas war. Last year, the Philippine Embassy in Israel recorded four Filipinos who were killed in the October 7 Hamas attack.
