Philippine Embassy in Malaysia supports NTF-ELCAC

THE Philippine Embassy in Malaysia encouraged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to avoid having links with communist terrorist groups.

During a seminar held by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in its office here in Kuala Lumpur Saturday, June 24, security agencies assigned to the Philippine Embassy encouraged OFWs to avoid having links with rebel groups and communists who are going against our country the Philippines.

The Embassy of the Philippines here in Kuala Lumpur continues to support the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

NTF-ELCAC is a task force organized by the government to respond to and raise awareness of the ongoing communist rebellion in the Philippines.

“As a partner of the NTF-ELCAC, the mandate of the PNP here as police attaché is to have this represented to our Chief PNP, Police General Benjamin Acorda, Sec. Benhur Abalos. This is our number 1 mandate. We have a mandate to assist Filipino nationals here especially on police matters. We are also promoting the program of our Chief PNP, part of that is community engagement. That’s why we are here and let us also inform [them] that we have a credible and effective law enforcement. Because if our law enforcement is not good and it is not credible, people will lose their trust on us. So with that, we experience that there are many cases here that involve Filipinos,” PCol. Exelso Lazaga Jr., Police Attache’ said.

“Where in this whole nation approach, included are the different sectors of the government, as well as the religious sector like SMNI and other sectors of the community that continue to work together to give a solution to our problems with the communist-terrorist groups. We want the Philippines to become successful by suppressing and putting an end to our security problem where the Communist Party of the Philippines and National Democratic Front are causing problems through NTF 70,” Arturo Lee Jr., Second Secretary and NTF-ELCAC Adviser said.

We can give a solution and we will continue our fight.

In addition, the NTF-ELCAC adviser is also advising OFWs not to be deceived by communist terrorist groups.

“I want to inform our fellow Filipinos abroad, our overseas Filipino workers should not be deceived and recruited by communist and terrorist groups. The communist terrorist groups have programs abroad; it is not only a problem in the Philippines but also a problem abroad. They form groups and associations where these groups and associations collect funds and recruit to strengthen their line. The funds they collect are being sent to the Philippines in order to continue their armed conflict. The Philippine government does not prohibit any ideology, as long as that ideology is not violent,” Arturo Lee Jr., Second Secretary and NTF-ELCAC Adviser said.

“Communist terrorist groups are banned because of its violent ideology. If they are not promoting armed revolution, there is no problem. So to our fellow OFWs, I encourage all of you to continue supporting the government and do not ever join communist terrorist groups,” Lee added.

According to Defense and Armed Forces Attache’ Col. Joel Lobitaña, it is important to increase the awareness of Filipinos.

Especially since it was the key to the massive surrender of former rebels.

Embassy staff thanks Pastor Apollo for support vs communist terrorist groups

Meanwhile, they are also grateful for having the SMNI program “Laban Kasama ang Bayan” to help Filipinos know the truth about communist terrorist groups.

“We are grateful for the help of Pastor (Apollo) through his program to deliver the truth to our fellow countrymen, give the right education in order for them to get to know the great damage caused by the Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army, and its front organization. Pastor Quiboloy’s program has done a lot to help our fellow Filipinos. With this program, their family members were encouraged even more where they also have family members who were in the underground movement because they realized that this was the truth. We were able to convey the truth to them with the help of our god. We can do nothing without the guidance of our Lord God,” Col. Joel Lobitaña, Defense and Armed Forces Attache’ said.

“I want to thank SMNI [and] Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy for giving me this opportunity for his continuous support during the time of our former president, President Duterte, and now with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” Lee added.

Meanwhile, Lee also expressed his appreciation to the Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Charles Jose for his continuous support to fight the said rebel groups and advance the government’s program through the National Task Force 70.
