DAPAT maingat ang Pilipinas hinggil sa pagkakaroon o pagpapahintulot ng karagdagang Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) bases ng Estados Unidos sa bansa.
Lalong-lalo na’t nakaharap ang mga lugar na lalagyan ng bagong EDCA sa China kabilang na ang Zambales, Cagayan, Isabela, at Palawan.
Ito ang sinabi ni Prof. Anna Malindog-Uy, isang geopolitical analyst sa panayam ng SMNI News bilang tugon sa sinabi ni US Vice President Kamala Harris kaugnay rito.
“We need to be very careful about this, EDCA is unconstitutional. Dapat hindi yan nangyari ang executive agreement na na rail road during the presidency of Ninoy it’s unconstitutional that even the existing 5 EDCA bases are unconstitutional so kapag pinagbigyan mo ang United States on this and when you talk about geopolitics, ang possibility of conflict in the Asia Pacific Region with the 3 flash point— ang tatlong flashpoint natin is Taiwan Strait, the Korean Peninsula and then the South China Sea. Potential source of conflict and now kung meron kang mga US military bases in the country it means you are actually (inaudible) militarizing the Philippines,” ani Prof. Anna Malindog-Uy, Geopolitical Analyst.
Ang EDCA bases ay isang military base ng Estados Unidos sa loob ng sariling military base ng Pilipinas.
Dagdag pa ni Malindog-Uy, dapat hindi na pinag-usapan nina Harris at Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. ang tungkol sa Taiwan Strait.
Ito’y dahil wala namang kaugnayan ang Pilipinas dito.
“If you want to be sensitive about relationship of China, we should not discuss that, why? Precisely because we say we are here and we honor the One China Policy, The One China Policy states that Taiwan is actually a province of China, anything that has something to do with that Taiwan question is actually an internal affairs of China so pag sinabi mong internal affairs of China wag mong i-discuss yan to the US precisely because other countries or other people would precede it or probably the Chinese would precede it what is it, are you meddling with our internal affairs? And one concrete principle in international relations is none interference,” dagdag ni Malindog-Uy.
