NITONG umaga ng Huwebes, Agosto 4, nagtungo si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Heritage Park sa Taguig City para dalawin ang burol ng yumaong si former President Fidel V. Ramos.
Kasama ni PBBM sina Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez at Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo pati na rin sina House Speaker Martin Romualdez at dating Senate President Vicente Sotto III.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na isang family event din ito dahil may kaugnayan ang kanilang pamilya kay FVR.
“I just came to, of course, offered my condolences to the family, through the former president’s wife. You also must be remember that we are related to FVR so it is also a family event, the loss of FVR,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Nabanggit din ni Pangulong Marcos sa asawa ni FVR na si former First Lady Amelita ang mga nagawa ng dating presidente na nagsisimbolo aniya ng stability ng bansa.
“I just reminded Mrs. Ramos on how FVR, when he became president, was a symbol of stability after all the tumultuous events of 1986 when he came into the presidency he brought calm and he brought stability to our country,” ayon kay PBBM.
Dagdag pa ng Punong Ehekutibo, hindi matatawaran ang pagsisilbi sa bayan ni dating Pangulong Ramos bilang sundalo at lingkod-bayan.
Kaya hindi aniya kailanman makakalimutan nito ang mga magagandang nagawa ni FVR sa bansa.
“And for that we will always be grateful to him and for all his service all throughout his life as a soldier and as a public servant. And, for that we clearly have suffered the loss for our country. But, the memories of him will be good because of the good work he did for the Philippines. Thank you,” ani PBBM.
Nagpasalamat naman si Pangulong Marcos sa lahat ng dumalaw sa burol.
Si dating Ramos ay ang ika-12 Presidente ng Republika ng Pilipinas.
Nangyari sa panahon ng termino ni FVR nang binansagan ang bansa na ‘Tiger Cub Economy in Asia’.
Bago naging Chief Executive, nagsilbi si FVR bilang Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) noong 1986-1988 at Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary noong 1988-1991.
Binigyang-diin din ni Pangulong Marcos na mananatili aniya ang alaala ni former President FVR dahil sa naging kontribusyon nito at magagandang nagawa sa bansa.
