PASTOR Apollo C. Quiboloy believes that some lawmakers are afraid of the possible return of Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the political arena.
“They are afraid that Duterte will run for senator or even vice president,” according to Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, The Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
This was Pastor Apollo’s remarks as some lawmakers in Congress are urging the International Criminal Court (ICC) to intervene by launching an investigation on the anti-illegal drugs campaign of Former President Duterte.
Pastor Apollo pointed out that the fear of some lawmakers stems from Duterte’s challenge to open and publicize the expenditure book of Congress, and this is why they are taking steps to stop Duterte from returning to power.
“They’re very afraid because he challenged them to show the Congress’ book [of accounts], how the money is spent. Until now, they haven’t shown it because if Duterte will again be in a position of power in any office like senator or vice president, they will surely be shocked because he will have the platform, so they are preventing him,” Pastor Apollo added.
Pastor Apollo wondered why Congress had not yet revealed their books.
“Why did they file House Bill 1477? Why don’t they file to show the book of the Congress? How the money is being spent,” Pastor Apollo said.
Pastor ACQ urges Congress to do what is right for the country
Also, Pastor Apollo again urged Congress to do what was right instead of emphasizing the ICC issue against the former president.
“The people is still asking ‘show us the money, where the money is being spent’. Because we are also in Kingdom, we are used to it, the people don’t have to ask me; We are the one asking the people, where your tithes and money goes. It is open, you can inspect it, we report it in our own congregation, it’s there, all the books, it should be like that Congress of the people.”
“We should not be the one to ask them to show us the books where the money is being spent, they should be the one to publish it, voluntarily, where the money is being spent, they should be the one. But right now, we are the ones asking them, and there is no answer, that doesn’t bode well for the Congress,” Pastor Apollo statement.

In the end, Pastor Apollo stated that some legislators are afraid of losing their position,
“Because the Duterte brand is very powerful, the people still love them, [former] President Duterte’s popularity is still at 93%, and Vice President Sara. That’s why they’re afraid of losing their jobs”.
