Thailand among world’s top ten cheapest countries to visit—survey

US-based Kiplinger magazine named Thailand as the fourth cheapest country for foreigners to visit.

Laos took the top spot as the world’s cheapest country to visit followed by Türkiye, Indonesia, Thailand, Hungary, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Portugal, and Greece.

According to the survey, the average daily expense when traveling to the Land of Smiles costs $52, average accommodation costs $21, and average daily meals cost $14.

The US-based magazine said flights to Thailand can be expensive, but other costs make up for it such as its tropical beaches, jungle temples, Buddha statues, delicious restaurants, and street markets, hence making it the most visited country in Southeast Asia.

Earlier this month, Thailand was once again been honored with the “Best Tourist Country” award at the 30th annual Grand Travel Awards 2023 held in Stockholm, Sweden.

Thailand regularly ranks high in polls as well as surveys and is also recognized internationally for its food, beaches, and tourism vibe that are attractive to foreigners.
