AMONG the countries that condemned Iran’s attack on Israel is Ukraine, with its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying that his country also needs help and air defense systems like Tel-Aviv’s.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy continues to ask for modern air defense systems of Israel capable of thwarting Iran’s attacks— and admitted the deteriorating situation on the front lines.
In his official account on X, Zelenskyy condemned Iran’s drone and missile attack. He also appealed to Ukraine’s allies to also help fend off threats from the air, just as Israel had done.
For months, Zelenskyy has urged the United States as well as other allies, to have the political will to provide Ukraine the air defenses and weapons that his country needs.
Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out in February 2022, Ukraine’s allies have provided them with billions of dollars in assistance.
However, the U.S. congress is currently in a political deadlock as republicans in U.S. congress blocked an earlier aid sought for Israel, Ukraine, in Taiwan, as republicans continues to push for stronger measures to curb the illegal immigration on the southern border of the United States.
