Volleyball Superstar Alyssa Valdez launches free volleyball clinic in Quezon City

IT wasn’t just a birthday celebration but also a surprise for aspiring athletes at the Suntay’s Bahay Serbisyo in Quezon City.

This coincided with the birthday celebration of QC Councilor Marra Suntay and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez.

The agreement aims to train children who want to improve their volleyball skills.

This will be provided for free to selected beneficiaries under the Alyssa Valdez Youth Volleyball Camp.

“What Alyssa wants is for those who may not know how, as long as she or we see them determined to learn. Then she will teach them for 3 days at the summer camp. She’ll even provide the T-shirts for everyone,” according to Councilor Marra Suntay, Quezon City.

The collaboration was formed to strengthen the anti-drug program for youth through sports.

Palarong Pambansa player Johncel is now determined to train because a volleyball superstar will be his coach.

“It’s a huge inspiration because we used to just watch her on TV, and now we’ve seen her in person,” said Johncel Loma, Palarong Pambansa Player.

“Well, definitely, that is one of our main goals here… allowing children to be interested in sports, in general. That’s what we aim for the youth. To go out, play, and interact with other kids,” Alyssa Valdez, Volleyball Superstar expressed.

According to Cleanfuel President and CEO Atty. Bong Suntay, who is also a sports enthusiast, Alyssa personally teaching the kids is a big factor since she is one of the most inspiring athletes of her time.

Therefore, more youths in his district in Quezon City are expected to take up volleyball and stay away from bad habits.

“You know, for all our youth, we really have no future if we get into drugs. Let’s not waste our future. There are so many things we can do; there are talents within us that we may not yet see. We just need the proper push and the right direction,” said Atty. Jesus ‘Bong’ Suntay, Cleanfuel President and CEO.

Alyssa recently came from a successful campaign in the Premier Volleyball League, where the Creamline Cool Smashers bagged its third consecutive PVL All-Filipino championship trophy.

This marks Alyssa’s eighth championship as the team captain.

Her message to the youth: ‘do not lose hope and continue to persevere’.

Choose sports over drugs.

And become the next volleyball superstar that the whole Philippines will be proud of!

“Thank you very much to all the youth! And I’m thankful to the parents of the youth who continue to support them. We encourage more kids to perhaps learn to love and enjoy the sport,” Valdez stressed.

“We believe that through sports, we can bring out the best in our youth,” added Suntay.
