World’s largest maritime security partnership welcomes Finland as newest member

THE Combined Maritime Forces (CMF)- the world’s largest maritime security partnership – recently welcomed Finland as its 43rd member.

The international naval coalition prides itself on defeating terrorism, preventing piracy, promoting safe maritime environments, and encouraging regional cooperation.

With 43 members states, the Combined Maritime Forces operate in different regions of the world.

Its task forces operate in strategic waterways such as the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, eastern Gulf of Aden, Red Sea, and the Bab al-Mandeb.

Finland’s entry into the coalition comes just a year after joining NATO – the world’s largest military alliance – on April 4, 2023.
