THE 1003rd Infantry Brigade of the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division dealt another significant blow to the remnants of the Communist Terrorist Group’s Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) after it captured a cache of weapons, including high-powered firearms and war materiel, in Barangay Lumintao, Quezon, Bukidnon on June 8, 2024.
Acting on information provided by concerned residents, a joint operation by the 1003rd Brigade led to the discovery and capture of 14 assorted high-powered firearms, including 8 M16A1 rifles, 1 M653 rifle, 2 M14 rifles, and 3 AK-47 rifles. Additionally, ammunition, rifle magazines, and a hand grenade belonging to the disbanded Weakened Guerilla Front (WGF) 57 of SMRC were also seized.
The Army leadership commended the 1003rd Infantry Brigade troops for their successful operation which will ultimately cripple the CTG’s capacity to sow fear in the communities. Meanwhile, the 10ID leadership thanked the community for their sustained partnership for peace with Army units in the Davao Region.
