COAST Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) Commander, CG Vice Admiral Charlie Rances, presided over the Recognition Ceremony of Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course Class 106-2023 “LAHI MANDALA” at Regional Training Center Zamboanga yesterday, 11 April 2024.
CG VADM Rances emphasized to the 745 male trainees the importance of striving to live up to their class name and translating the lessons learned into action. He also reminds them that they had taken an oath before stepping foot on the training ground, pledging as servants of the government to relinquish certain privileges and embrace the rules and regulations.
“As soldiers, we are trained to follow orders, regardless of our personal preferences,” CG VADM Rances furthered.
The CGETDC said the recognition rites hold the essence of a Candidate Coast Guard Non-Officers’ victory in overcoming the challenges of the boot camp stage, which is considered the hardest phase of the training, preparing them to be physically fit, emotionally stable, and decisive decision makers amidst work pressure as they become full-pledge non-officers of the Philippine Coast Guard. After overcoming the boot camp stage, they will now focus on their academic stage, where they will further develop their knowledge and skills for their roles as future coast guardians.
