ASAHAN ang mas pinabilis na internet connectivity sa bansa sa susunod na taon dahil popondohan ng pamahalaan ang National Broadband Plan ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa susunod na taon.
Ayon kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez, P1.5 billion ang proposed budget ng programa sa ilalim ng 2023 proposed national budget.
Saad ni Romualdez, ang pondo ay bahagi ng institutional amendments na ipapasok ng Kamara para amyendahan ang 2023 budget sa bicam level.
Giit ng lider ng Kamara, isang mahalagang requirement sa buhay ng mga Pilipino ang mabilis na internet connectivity sa pag-aaral, negosyo maging ng pagpapaabot ng serbisyo publiko.
“And the internet is a critical social service nowadays, as it is deeply entrenched in the way we live. We use the internet for education, for delivering and availing social services, for our businesses, and for almost every facet of our lives,” ani Romualdez.
Tiniyak naman ni House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Zaldy Co na mapopondohan ang programa sa Bicam para makapag-provide ng backbone ang internet connectivity sa lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno.
