NILINAW ng Department of Health (DOH) na ang 26 area ay matagal nang nasa Alert Level 2 at pinanatili lamang sa naturang status hanggang katapusan ng buwan.
Inilagay ng pandemic task force ng bansa ang 26 na mga alert level 2 status hanggang Abril 30.
Ang nasabing mga lugar ay ang Benguet, Ifugao, Quezon Province, Palawan, Camarines Norte, Masbate, Antique, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Cebu Province, Negros Oriental, Leyte, Western Samar, Lanao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, North Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Dinagat Islands, Basilan, Maguindanao, Sulu, at Tawi-Tawi.
Pero paglilinaw ng DOH, pinanatili lamang ang mga ito sa Alert Level 2 status simula June 2022 hindi dahil sa pagtaas ng kaso kundi dahil sa mababang vaccination rate sa mga naturang lugar.
Ayon sa ahensiya, ang mga naturang lugar ay nasa low risk classification na sa COVID-19 pero ang kanilang vaccination rate ay 70% na mas mababa sa target total at populasyon ng kanilang A2 (senior citizen).
“The DOH clarifies that the 26 provinces and cities under Alert Level 2 were not escalated from Alert Level 1; rather, these have maintained their Alert Level 2 status since June 2022. While these areas have reached low risk classifications for cases and utilization rates, these have vaccination rates lower than 70% of the target total and population or 70% of the total A2 population (senior citizens),” ayon sa DOH.
Nilinaw rin ng DOH na walang probinsiya o lungsod ang itinaas sa A2 mula sa A1 population simula January 2023.
Tiniyak din ng DOH na nanatiling manageable ang healthcare system ng bansa.
Anito, hindi pa full capacity ang mga ospital para sa COVID admission.
“The DOH continues to monitor our health system capacity to ensure that Filipinos can continuously avail of healthcare services. While some hospitals have reported some increases in admission, no hospital has reported full capacity,” saad ng DOH.
Patuloy na nagpapaalala ang DOH sa publiko na hanggat libre pa ang bakuna kontra COVID-19 ay magpaturok na ng COVID-19 vaccines at ng booster shots lalo na ang mga senior citizen.
Hinimok naman nito ang mga LGU na pataasin ang kanilang COVID-19 coverage.
“The DOH continues to encourage those that are still unvaccinated, unboosted, or under-boosted to get the vaccines as soon as possible while it is still FREE of charge, especially for senior citizens. The DOH is continuously working with the local government units of the identified provinces and cities to increase their COVID-19 vaccination coverage,” dagdag ng DOH.
