Army reservists participate in CATEX Katihan

IN a historic milestone for Philippine Army Reserve Force, reservists from Nueva Ecija and Bulacan participated in the first-ever large-scale Combined Arms Training Exercise (CATEX) “Katihan” conducted in three venues- Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija, and Camp O’Donnell and Col. Ernesto Rabina Air Base in Capas, Tarlac on March 8-18, 2024.

Throughout the exercise, reservists engaged in a series of dynamic drills and simulations, with emphasis on a realistic, battle-focused setting, testing their abilities across different combat scenarios. From infantry maneuvers to indirect fire support operations, the training provided reservists with a holistic understanding of combined arms operations. CATEX “Katihan” is the highlight activity of Exercise Katihan which will culminate with the 127th Philippine Army Foundation Day that will be held in Camp O’Donnel.

The Army leadership lauded the Army reservists who will serve as a base of expansion of the active force in times of war or national emergencies.
