Brazil ends Paris 2024 Olympics with 20 medals, sets historic record for female athletes

WHILE Brazil’s total medal count remains impressive, the number of golds fell short compared to previous Olympics. In Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil won 7 gold medals each, setting a new record. The previous record was 5 gold medals from Athens 2004, and Brazil had previously won a maximum of 3 golds in earlier editions.

Over its 24 Olympic participations, Brazil missed out on gold in 10 editions, including Paris 1924, Los Angeles 1932, and Sydney 2000.

Paris 2024 was a milestone for Brazil, featuring more female athletes who won more medals than their male counterparts.
