China to launch manned space mission on October 26

CHINA is all set to launch its sixth crewed space mission with three astronauts on board the Shenzhou-17 spaceflight, scheduled for Thursday.

This mission, led by Commander Tang Hongbo, is noteworthy for having the youngest Shenzhou crew to date.

The Shenzhou-17 spacecraft will dock with the Tianhe core module about 6.5 hours after launch, and the mission will last until April 2024.

According to CGTN, the astronauts of Shenzhou-17 will perform various in-orbit space science and application payload tests as well as experiments.

They will also carry out extravehicular activities, install extravehicular payloads, conduct space station maintenance, as well as other tasks.

And for the first time, the astronauts will conduct extravehicular experimental maintenance.

Pakistan, Belarus join China’s Lunar Research Station Project

China is also open to inviting foreign astronauts to participate in its space station missions and has plans for a manned lunar landing by 2030, which could involve foreign astronauts when conditions permit.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Belarus have signed agreements to collaborate with China on the International Lunar Research Station or ILRS, set for construction in the 2030s.

This collaboration will encompass various aspects, including engineering, technology, materials, and personnel training.

China continues to emphasize the peaceful use of space and is expanding international partnerships in space exploration.
