NAGPAHAYAG ng suporta ang beteranong mambabatas at ekonomista na si Albay Representative Joey Salceda kay Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte bilang susunod na Pangulo ng bansa.
Ayon kay Salceda, nakatrabaho na nito ang nakababatang Duterte sa local level noong gobernador ito ng Albay at napahanga ito sa trabaho ng local chief executive.
Kung pagbabatayan aniya ang track record ng alkalde, makikita na marunong ito sa paggamit ng pondo o resources.
Pro-poor rin daw ito matapos kampihan ang mga residente na-idedemolish sa Davao noong 2011 kung saan sinuntok nito ang sheriff na nagsilbi ng demolition order sa isang barangay sa siyudad.
Economic thinker rin aniya si Mayor Inday dahil sa karanasan nitong humawak ng posisyon sa Regional Development Council o RDC ng Davao Region.
Ayon kay Salceda, nang manungkulan si Mayor Inday bilang RDC Chairman noong 2012, tumaas ang Gross Domestic Product o GDP ng Davao mula 3.7% papuntang 7.4%.
Diin din ng ekonomistang mambabatas na nakikinig sa payo ang nakababatang Duterte na isang magandang katangian ng susunod na pangulo ng bansa.
At higit sa lahat, maipagpapatuloy nito ang economic policies na nasimulan ng kanyang ama na si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Mga katangian ni Mayor Sara Duterte para maging susunod na Pangulo:
- Judicious use of public resources. She will only spend what she can effectively implement. Given our country’s embattled fiscal capacity, this is a trait worthy of national leadership.
- Pro-poor in instinct and policy. The altercation in 2011 shows us the Mayor’s strongest impulses; she will fight for the poor.
- Sophisticated economic thinking. Mayor Sara was Regional Development Council (RDC) chair for the Davao Region when I was Governor and RDC chair for Bicol. We used to have friendly debates during meetings of RDC heads. During her first full year as RDC chair, in 2012, Davao Region’s GDP expanded from 3.7% in 2011 to 7.4%, or twice as fast. This is a leader who knows her stuff.
- Enlightened, well-advised policies. When we were both RDC Chairs, I saw Mayor Sara at work, asking the right questions, quizzing her own able staff. I recall Hegel’s thoughts about the State, where history unfolds, being the embodiment of reason. If so, we will need enlightened leadership – leaders who surround themselves with the brilliant and the reasonable, and are secure enough to admit that they need such advisers and staff; leaders who are well-attuned to modernity. Mayor Sara is that choice.
President Duterte’s economic policies have been largely positive. Mayor Sara will have no difficulty continuing good policies. But as she is among the few members of the Duterte coalition to be unafraid to issue criticism where she sees the need, I have no doubt Mayor Sara will be capable of course-correcting when a new direction is needed. For these reasons, and for many more, I am all for Sara for President.

Nito namang linggo, Mayo 23 ay ipinakita ni Salceda ang palitan nila ng mensahe ni Mayor Inday.
Para kay Salceda, malinaw na may intensyon ang nakababatang Duterte sa susunod na taon.
Pero hindi nabanggit sa usapan ng dalawa kung anong pwesto ang tatakbuhan ni Mayor Inday pero malinaw para kay Salceda ang intensyon ng nakababatang Duterte sa susunod na botohan.
Bagkus ay nagpasalamat si Mayor Inday sa suporta ni Salceda sa kaniya.
Nangako naman ng buong suporta si Salceda kay Mayor Inday kapag nagdeklara na itong tumakbo sa eleksyon.
“I look forward to continuing my exchanges with Mayor Sara on how to improve the socioeconomic conditions of our people. It is her final decision to make, but I am now certain she intends [to] run. When she does, she can count on my full support,” ayon kay Salceda.
Samantala, inilunsad naman sa Metro Manila ang “Duterte Parin Movement.”
Isinusulong ng kilusan ang paghimok kay Mayor Inday sa pagka-pangulo sa darating na 2022 national elections.
Nais ng kilusan na ipagpatuloy ng Presidential daughter ang magandang legasiya ng kanyang ama na si Pangulong Digong.
Nauna nang sinabi ng executive Pastor ng The Kingdom of Jesus Christ na si Mayor Inday ang next anointed President ng bansa.
Nagpasalamat naman ang Mayora sa suporta ng butihing Pastor sa kaniya.
