TARLAC 1st District Engineer Neil Farala of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), together with 2nd Legislative District Representative Christian Tell Yap, led the inauguration of newly installed solar-powered street lights along specific sections of Tarlac – Victoria Road.
According to Farala, this project will greatly benefit the adjoining areas of Tarlac City and Victoria town with the installation of 117 solar-powered lights, enhancing road safety and security for both residents and motorists.
“These energy-efficient lights promote environmental sustainability by reducing the carbon footprint. The DPWH is committed to expanding this initiative to other communities in need of proper street lighting, ensuring brighter, safer, and more secure roads for all users,” Farala said.
The solar-powered lighting now benefits travelers to barangays Tariji, Balibago I, and Balibago II in Tarlac City, as well as barangays Baculong and Maluid in Victoria, by improving road safety, increasing visibility, and reducing the risk of accidents.
Also in attendance during the event were Victoria Mayor Rex Villa Agustin, Tarlac City Vice Mayor Genaro Mendoza, local government officials, and key personnel from DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office.#(DPWH TARLAC 1ST DPAIU)
