NEWLY-appointed Director III of DOST-PAGASA, Dr. Marcelino Q. Villafuerte II took his oath of office yesterday at the DOST Central Office administered by Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr. The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Nathaniel T. Servando, Administrator of PAGASA, and other key officials of the Department.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Villafuerte was the section chief of the Climatology and Agrometeorology Division. He became part of the country’s pool of highly qualified and productive scientific personnel when he was conferred the Scientist I rank in 2021.
Dr. Villafuerte will be designated as the Deputy Administrator for Research and Development and will oversee the operations of several divisions of DOST-PAGASA.
