MAITUTURING na isang ‘golden era’ ng mga oportunidad ng Pilipinas ang pagtatapos ng pandemya.
Ito ang ibinahagi ng negosyante at presidente ng Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) na si Dr. Cecilio Pedro sa panayam ng SMNI News.
Ipinaliwanag ni Pedro, kung paano niya nakita ang napakalaking potensiyal ng Pilipinas pagdating sa ekonomiya sa mga susunod na araw.
“Alamin niyo po itong post-pandemic, tawag nito ay post-pandemic, after the pandemic suddenly we are opening up, suddenly everybody is looking at opportunities worldwide and it so happen in the Philippines. We have one of the biggest potentials in the coming days and years dahil po marami pang puwedeng mag-invest dito, maraming infrastructure kailangan itayo dito sa Pilipinas, maraming negosyo puwedeng itayo kaya I look at this as a golden era of Philippine opportunities,” ayon kay Pedro.
Ibinahagi rin ni Pedro ang ilang katangian at mindset ng mga Chinese na nagging malaking salik sa pag-unlad ng China.
Aniya, malaking bagay dito ang pagtulong ng mismong mga tao sa pamahalaan.
“Dapat naman po, we should help the government and the government should also help the people,” ani Pedro.
Pero aminado ang FFCCCIII president na ang pangunahing hamon ngayon ay ang paglikha ng mas maraming trabaho.
At ibinahagi ang ilang bagay para makalikha nito.
“Ang major challenge ngayon is more employment, more jobs, so how do we create more jobs? We have to create a beautiful or friendly environment for people to come in and invest in the Philippines so it takes a lot of things including policies, including ease of doing business, perhaps also electricity, may peace and order and other aspects needed for the economy to move forward and for investors to come in and invest in the Philippines,” dagdag ni Pedro.
Samantala, suportado naman ni Dr. Pedro ang naisabatas na Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) dahil makatutulong aniya ang investment nito sa mga mahihirap.
“Alam niyo po ‘yung Maharlika is ‘yung concept is very good. Ang concept ng Maharlika para makatulong sa mga mahihirap para magkaroon ng investments na hopefully benefits will go to the poorest of the poor. Iyan po ay ang magandang objective,” ani Pedro.
Gayunman, ang malaki aniyang problema dito ay ang usapin sa transparency.
“Ngayon ang problema natin, ang challenge is transparency. Kailangan ilagay natin ‘yung mga taong mapagkakatiwalaan. People that can be trusted and people that knows how to put the money in the right places, in the right investment so we will generate enough profits and help the poorest of the poor in the country,” aniya.
