Indonesian President Joko Widodo visits Australia

INDONESIAN President Joko Widodo started his 3-day visit to Australia.

The talks focused on bolstering trade, regional security, and climate change.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Foreign Minister Penny Wong hinted the government would relax its visa rules for business travelers coming from Indonesia.

A visit to the Taronga Zoo before and the Sumatran tiger exhibit were also part of the itinerary.

Indonesia was previously critical of the AUKUS security pact but said he had now accepted the decision from Canberra before his whirlwind visit to Sydney.

Widodo’s visit to Australia was his first since February 2020 and is likely to be his last as president.
