Israel signals readiness for ground offensive into Gaza Strip

ISRAELI security officials said it is ready to launch a ground offensive in Gaza, saying that their move will be far more comprehensive and ferocious than any previous conflict with Hamas.

Yoav Gallant, the defense minister of Israel, visited troops on the Gaza border and told them that they would soon see Gaza from the inside once the command came.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting with his British counterpart Rishi Sunak called the events their darkest hour.

Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on October 7, killing 1,400 Israelis.

This prompted the Israeli military to summon up to 360,000 reservists and amass a huge army around Gaza’s coastal strip while reinforcing their defenses on the northern border against the possibility of an attack from Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden immediately left Israel after talking personally with Netanyahu.

He then declared that U.S. and Israeli officials had talked about alternatives to amass a ground offensive into Gaza.
