A mayor in Japan was forced to apologize after he distributed over 600 pamphlets containing controversial content about women.
Over 600 pamphlets were distributed across Onomichi City in Hiroshima since 2018 and were sent to women 7 months pregnant.
The Onomichi City government said they conducted a survey last 2017 regarding what husbands want from their wives.
In the contents, they included the top three answers given by experienced fathers.
The pamphlets stated to pregnant women to mend to their husbands with a smile on their faces.
Asking to make lunch and massage their husbands.
The pamphlets also stated that men act with rationality while women are with their emotions.
The flyer garnered attention after local media reported it earlier this week, it was then met with an enraged response by netizens on social media.
The local government also received phone calls and emails complaining about the said flyers.
Earlier this week Mayor Yukihiro Hiratani issued an apology saying the pamphlets do not reflect the sentiment of a pregnant woman and that they have stopped distributing the flyers.
