POSIBLENG masuspinde ang driver’s license ng driver ng Ferrari sports car na pumasok kamakailan sa EDSA bus lane.
Ayon sa Land Transportation Office (LTO), maglalabas sila ng resolusyon laban sa driver at may-ari ng pulang sports car.
Kasunod ito sa hindi pagsipot sa ikalawang pagdinig ng LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division nitong Miyerkules.
Paliwanag ni Renan Melitante, Head ng LTO-IID na irerekomenda nila kay LTO Assistant Secretary Teofilo Guadiz III ang 90-araw na suspensyon ng lisensya ng driver.
Bukod dito, isasailalim din sa alarma ang sasakyan, ibig sabihin hindi ito maaaring makapag-renew ng rehistro ng sasakyan hangga’t hindi lumulutang ang driver upang magpaliwanag sa ginawang mga paglabag sa batas trapiko.
Naniniwala naman si Assistant Secretary Guadiz na nabigyan na ng due process o pagkakataon na makapagpaliwanag at dumipensa ang driver at may-ari ng pulang Ferrari.
“In the interest of justice and the LTO’s strict adherence to proper legal procedure, we have extended all possible leeway for the driver/owner to explain why the violation was committed. Since there was a failure to do so, we have no recourse but to apply the law,” pahayag ni Guadiz.
Dagdag nito, magdedesisyon ang LTO batay sa mga hawak nilang ebidensya.
“Let this case also serve as an example that the LTO will not tolerate violations against traffic laws that were put in place for the safety of everyone, especially now that the country is still in a state of national health emergency. We hope that other drivers out there who may think of doing the same thing in the future will rethink their actions,” ayon kay Guadiz.
Matatandaang, nag-viral sa social media ang pagpasok ng mamahaling Ferrari sports car sa EDSA bus lane noong Biyernes, Oktubre 21.
Nabatid na ang naturang lane ay eksklusibo lang para sa mga bus, o di kaya’y sa emergency use.
