MAY priority list na ang Kamara sa mga programang tututukan pagkatapos ng 2023 State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
“All system go” na dito sa Kamara de Representantes para sa pagdaraos ng ikalawang SONA ni Pangulong Marcos mamaya.
Sinabi ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez, ang lider ng 312 miyembro ng Kamara, inaantay nila ang mga ilalatag na prayoridad ng Pangulo.
At sa pagsisimula ng second regular session ng 19th Congress, tututukan aniya ng Kamara na matupad ang mithiin ni Pangulong Marcos na gawing P20/kilo ang presyuhan ng bigas sa bansa.
“The President wants the price of rice to reach 20 pesos per kilo. We are not yet there but we will soon approach that and we will make sure that in the house we take initiatives as we had done in the previous regular session we will focus on the availability of affordable rice and we will try to target that 20 pesos per kilo,” pahayag ni Speaker Martin Romualdez, House of Representatives.
Bukod diyan, patututukan din daw ng Pangulo ang continuation ng war on drugs.
Kaya sila sa Kamara, gagawa ng mga hakbang para suportahan ang pagpapatuloy ng kampanya.
“Also, we join the president in the continuation of the war on drugs. We want to make sure that the bane of drugs that menaces society particularly our youth will not raise its ugly head once more and there are some areas where this might be the case., so we would like to also nip that in the bud and make sure that congress plays its roles in conjunction, in support of the executive and with our law enforcers and our anti-drug agencies in this matter so that the number of personnel and the proper amount of resource employed and deployed to address this situation so,” ayon kay Speaker Martin Romualdez, House of Representatives.
Sa kung anong mga priority bills ng Pangulo, lahat raw yan ay sabay-sabay na tututukan sa Kamara.
Target naman nila sa Kamara na ipasa ang 2024 budget bill bago ang kanilang October recess.
Isang linggo pagkatapos ng SONA ang submission sa Kamara sa national budget bill.
Samantala, mahigit 2,000 ang bisitang inaasahang pisikal na dadalo sa SONA upang pakinggan ang sasabihin ng Pangulo.
Inaasahang magsisimula ito ng alas-4 ng hapon.
Kasama sa mga nagkumpirma na dadalo sa SONA ay sina dating Pangulong Joseph “Erap” Estrada, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, at Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Ang classically-trained soprano na si Lara Maigue ang kakanta ng Lupang Hinirang sa SONA.
Isang choir naman mula sa Tacloban City, ang I Love Tacloban Quartet Singers, ang kakanta ng national anthem sa pagbubukas ng sesyon sa umaga.
Mas magiging maluwag na rin ang ipinatutupad na COVID-19 protocol at hindi na kailangan pa ng RT-PCR test ng mga fully vaccinated na laban sa COVID-19.
Mananatili naman ang hybrid setup sa sesyon at papayagang dumalo ang mga mambabatas sa pamamagitan ng teleconferencing.
