THE Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Zamboanguita is still searching for the British National who went missing during a diving activity at the seawaters off District Dauin, Negros Oriental since 22 April 2025.
At around 9:30PM of the said date, CGSS Zamboanguita received a phone call from Philippine National Police (PNP) Dauin regarding a report from a Singaporean national informing that her live-in partner, a British national had gone diving and had failed to return to their apartment.
In response, CGSS Zamboanguita, Coast Guard Mobile Team (CG MT) Dauin, Coast Guard Special Operation Unit-CGS Negros Oriental, PNP Dauin, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Dauin and nearby sub-stations immediately launched a shoreline patrol in search of the missing diver. Unfortunately, no sightings were made during the initial patrol.
The search continued on 24 April 2025, with a larger team of 11 divers from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Negros Oriental Dive Association (NORDA). Despite extensive efforts, including underwater and surface search, no further findings were reported.
In addition, said team also conducted an information dissemination to local fisherfolks and fishermen engaged in fishing venture regarding the said missing person, advising them to immediately report to the nearest coast guard station if sighted.
The surface search remains ongoing, with the command of Commander, Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV), Commodore Ludovico Librilla Jr PCG, committed to utilizing available resources to locate and ensure the safety of Mr Morris.
