THE Commander of the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas, Commodore Luduvico Librilla Jr PCG, rendered a courtesy call to the Regional Director of Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) VI, Mr Jeffrey Bangsa at Iloilo City yesterday, 19 December 2024.
During the recent meeting, officials from both agencies discussed the interagency collaboration through enhanced regulations and cooperative measures, which emphasized the shared commitment of both agencies to enhance the efficiency of maritime operations and promote safe and sustainable maritime practices. Key discussions included joint initiatives on maritime welfare, vessel safety inspections, and response readiness for maritime emergencies in the region.
Commodore Librilla PCG reaffirmed the Philippine Coast Guard dedication to fostering a stronger partnership between the PCG and MARINA together with the Local Government Unit. Also, commitment and ways to implement plans and programs for the development of the Philippine maritime sector were highlighted particularly on maritime safety rules and regulations ensuring compliance with safety standards for the benefit of the maritime community and the general public.
Also present during the visit were Deputy Commander, CGDSV, Commander Jan Terazona PCG; Senior SBS, Technical Service Division, Engineer Bernadeth Longakit; Attorney II Franchising Section, Attorney Nicole Marie Amuan; and Secretary Office of the Regional Director, Ms Ma Mildred Palencia.
