PINAALALAHANAN ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ang publiko na mag-ingat at gumawa ng mga paraan upang makaiwas sa heat stroke ngayong dry season.
Kasunod nito, hinikayat naman ni PhilHealth acting President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel R. Ledesma, Jr. ang lahat na umiwas sa pagbabad sa init lalo na’t hindi biro ang heat stroke dahil maari itong magkaroon ng permanent damage sa utak at iba pang parte ng katawan ng tao.
Ayon naman sa US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, maaring ikamatay ng isang tao ang heat stroke at high risk dito ang mga matatanda.
Ilan sa mga nasabing sintomas nito ay confusion, altered mental status, slurred speech; loss of consciousness; hot, dry skin o profuse sweating; seizures; at very high body temperature.
Sinabi rin ng state insurer na may P6,500 confinement fee ito para sa heat stroke, ang P4,550 ay para sa hospital fees at P1,950 naman para sa professional fees.
