PNP called ‘sycophants’; Retired Ph Army officer questions harassment against Pastor Apollo

A retired Philippine Army officer expressed his displeasure over the imposition of a ten million peso bounty against Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, who is known for advocating against the communist terrorist group, CPP-NPA-NDF.

“I don’t like it either. How much of a criminal is Pastor Quiboloy that you give him this much attention? That’s why I say the PNP are sycophants. You raised the reward to P10 million just to arrest— to capture Pastor Quiboloy. What exactly is his crime? Is it worse compared to heinous crimes?” according to Col. Segundo Metran (Ret.) – Philippine Army.

This is the sentiment of retired Philippine Army Colonel Segundo Metran on what he sees as government harassment against Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.

To recall, after the violent attack of armed police on the religious compounds of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) on June 10, which left the KOJC missionaries in severe fear and trauma, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) issued a bounty of up to ten million pesos for the capture of Pastor Apollo.

This amount was also strongly opposed by the KOJC as it puts Pastor Apollo’s life in great danger, especially since he has not been proven guilty of the accusations against him.

According to Metran, the government should focus on the many problems facing the Philippines rather than going after Pastor Apollo, who is known for his stance against the communist terrorist CPP-NPA-NDF.

“There are so many heinous crimes, and so many problems in the country, and yet you give attention to a Pastor respected by 11 million Filipinos. For what? Because you felt insulted? You give him attention. You are creating more enemies. You are adding more to your adversaries. You can’t accept that Pastor Quiboloy is like that,” Metran added.

Apart from voicing his thoughts on the harassment against Pastor Apollo, Metran also expressed his sentiments toward Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), which is also facing oppression from the administration.
