PREPARATIONS are underway for the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) 2024, scheduled to take place from October 14 to 17, 2024.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), led by Undersecretary Marilou Erni, had a meeting with the UNDRR, the UN Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), and other stakeholders for the APMCDRR, to discuss its work plan, designated roles, and other preparatory plans for the conference.
The APMCDRR is a biennial conference that serves as a platform for global leaders to collaboratively address issues and accelerate progress in disaster risk reduction. Its overarching objective is to implement the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, underscoring the significance of international cooperation in mitigating the impact of disasters.
