DISYEMBRE 10 araw ng Martes, nagsampa ng reklamo sa House Ethics Committee ang mga IP leader laban sa isang kongresista at tinukoy noon ni Dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na kilalang prente ng komunistang teroristang grupo na New People’s Army (NPA) na si Francisca “France” Castro.
Reklamo ng mga IP, bakit nasa Kongreso pa si Castro gayong convicted ito sa kasong child abuse sa mga batang IP sa Mindanao.
Suportado naman ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) ang naging hakbang ng indigenous people mula sa Talaingod, Davao del Norte na nagsampa ng ethics complaint laban sa convicted IP child abuser na si France” Castro.
Sa isang pahayag sinabi ng NTF-ELCAC na ang ginawa ng mga IP leader ay hakbang tungo sa pagkamit ng hustisya.
“The courage shown by Datu Allan Causing, Andigao Agay, and Gusting Dalyak Dausay, representing the Ata-Manobo Tribal Council of Elders and Leaders, is a significant step towards restorative justice,” pahayag ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
Sinabi pa ng NTF-ELCAC na dapat pakinggan ng mga mambabatas ang mga hinaing ng ating mga kababayang IP at tulungan na makamit ang hustisya na kanilang hinahanap.
“The task force believes that, as public servants—especially the members of the House of Representatives—the least that we can do is to listen to their grievances, support their pursuit of justice, and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions,” dagdag na pahayag ng NTF-ELCAC.
Matatandaan na convicted si Castro at iba pa sa kasong child abuse matapos na tangkang dukutin ang mga estudyanteng Lumad noong November 28, 2018.
Ang karahasan na ginawa ni Castro ay nasaksihan ng mga Lumad elders kaya hiling ng mga IP leader sa mga mambabatas na dapat mapanagot si Castro sa batas.
Dagdag pa ng NTF-ELCAC na ang kahilingan ng mga IP na masuspinde si Castro ay isang makatarungan at maingat na hakbang, upang mapalakas ang integridad ng proseso ng lehislatura habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon sa nasabing reklamo.
“Furthermore, the elders’ call for Castro’s preventive suspension is a reasonable and prudent measure, as this upholds the integrity of the legislative process while the complaint is being investigated. Given the gravity of the allegations, the suspension will ensure that no undue influence is exerted on the proceedings,” ayon pa sa NTF-ELCAC.
