Thai PM to attend special summit in Australia

THAI Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will join the Australian-ASEAN Special Summit set to take place in Melbourne from March 4 to 6.

Australian Prime Minister Antony Albanese will host the event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

ASEAN leaders were invited to the special summit, except for Myanmar.

Timor-Leste will also participate as an official ASEAN observer.

Australia will use this platform to build stronger ties with Southeast Asian countries, especially in trade and investment.

Despite the absence of security threats, increased security will be imposed to prepare for any possibility of planned protests.
