PH Government to assist to Filipinos affected by reclamation projects nationwide

OFFICIALS from the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) recently held a meeting.

The meeting aimed to develop programs for our fellow citizens affected by reclamation projects nationwide.

Particularly, the focus will be on fishermen who have lost their homes.

“We are trying to provide livelihood opportunities such as creating bancas. We are providing other livelihood opportunities and training for those that may be displaced,” said Atty. Alex Lopez Chairman, Philippine Reclamation Authority.

Also agreed upon by PRA and NAPC is the establishment of hospitals for the affected sectors.

The program also includes farmers affected by reclamation projects.

Lopez also assured that displaced residents due to government projects will have decent resettlement areas.

“We have plenty of land which we are working with the Pasay City Government right now and hopefully with all the other local governments where we have reclamation projects for their vendors to have places,” added Lopez.

Chairman Lopez emphasized that PRA is already looking for lands for housing relocation.

DOLE and TESDA are partners of PRA and NAPC in this program.

Vendors who lost their stalls due to development in reclaimed sites are also included in the assistance program.
