Thailand PM Thavisin visits Tesla Fremont Factory

TESLA warmly received Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and held discussions on future collaborations on electrical vehicles (EV) and clean energy as he pushed for the country to become the hub for EV and renewable energy in the years to come.

For years, Tesla has been friendly with high officials representing countries in the eastern hemisphere, including India and Thailand.

Thailand now strives to invest in Tesla in its country and bring some business capacity to the region, hoping to encourage the use and purchase of electric vehicles.

In October, Thavisin announced his intent to meet with Tesla, and recently, he engaged in talks with other Tesla officials.

Thavisin toured the Fremont Factory on Monday, where Tesla built all its electric vehicles until the Giga Factory Shanghai went online in 2020.

According to Thavisin’s X account post, he was happy to visit Tesla’s home in California and had a very productive discussion about collaboration in the future of EVs and clean energy.

He also hopes that this collaboration will strengthen Thailand as a hub for EV and renewable energy in the coming years.

Recently, Tesla mentioned India, France, South Korea, Canada, and Chile as candidate countries where it might establish its next production plant.
