PRIME Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not return to Pakistan empty-handed after it secured billions of dollars in investments from the United Arab Emirates.
Sharif recently met the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi as part of a working visit.
The meeting resulted in the UAE promising $10 billion in investments across various sectors in Pakistan to boost its economy.
Sharif also invited the UAE leader to visit Pakistan to which the UAE warmly accepted.
The UAE is one of Pakistan’s major trading partners. Pakistani products exported to the UAE reached US$1.52 billion in 2022 which consisted mainly of meat, cereals, clothes, edible fruits and nuts, textiles, and fuels.
